About Aimee Gee

Aimee is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state of Colorado with over 13 years of experience.  She received her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Colorado at Denver.  She has extensive experience working with families struggling with parenting, divorce, fostering/adoption, trauma, addictions, domestic violence and mental health disorders.  To more effectively advocate for her clients while working as a family therapist and tribal liaison with the Klamath Tribes in Oregon, Aimee also created and facilitated a community wide resource committee to better serve children and families both native and non-native.

Aimee currently works with individuals, couples, families and children of all ages in her part-time private practice.  Aimee also supervises clinicians going for Marriage and Family Therapy licensure and teaches Family Play Therapy classes at the Denver Family Institute.

Professional Affiliations:

  • Advisory Board Member of the Second Wind Foundation ( 1/09-present)
  •   Clinical Member-American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (Dec 2002- present)
  •   Association for Play Therapy ( 6/99-present)

Aimee’s Approach to Therapy

Aimee assists clients in finding their own internal and external strengths and resources to help solve their areas of concern by utilizing cognitive-behavioral and family play therapy techniques.  Aimee believes utilizing the family as part of the solution enables more sustainable change in working with children, as well as issues related to addiction.
